Little boys are funny

If you don't know already I have a little brother named Adam. He's three and a disaster in the making.
The other day I was putting on his spiderman pajamas for him- he's absolutely obsessed with spiderman right down to the underwear- and well all of the sudden the kid starts singing, quote:

"Apple Je-anssss
low
low
low
low
low
low
Hit the floowl
Hit the apple jeans"

It was the shock of the lifetime- I mean the first time I hear my little brother sing a song and its that song and we're in Palestine...
needless to say the lyrics were in the wrong order and he was terribly off-key (no doubt inherited from big sister :) ) but it was amazingly funny.

I also discovered him singing "Peanut better Jelly time, where ya at? where ya at?"

I think me and my younger sister need to have a conversation about what music shes listening to in front of my little brother....

Useless

I feel useless lately. I'm in the place where prophets were born and miracles, as well as disaster, happens daily- continually.
You know whats really sad- theres atleast 15 Qurans in my grandparents house and i brought schoolwork with me and I havent touched either- not that the two even compare.
But still. I feel useless.
I can make myslef feel better by saying I atleast appreciate the greatness of the land I come from- which I do, I really do- I love Palestine. I will always love Palestine.
But thats really not enough, I need to start making an effort to better myself while Im here- acadimically, and most importantly religiously. I have so many amazing sources here- including my Arabic speaking family that understand and have studied the holy Quran much more than I have. I need to take advantage of these things.
Allhumdullillah I do feel like I have grown spiritually- putting yourself in situations where you can rethink your life and all your decisions and appreciate all the things you've learned is a great feeling. Im fortunate enough to atleast have plenty of time to just sit and think- I've been doing a lot of that, but now its time to take it up a noch! :)

The Final Stretch

Mom and the siblings are joining us in Jordan tomorrow- that means we're days away from being in Palestine.
I absolutley can't wait.
Jordan's been fun but I'm tired of all the family visits and meeting 68546757 relatives I've never in my life seen before but have to pretend to care about. that's mean... I know. I love my family,
just not all of them

I'm looking forward to being in the homeland. Walking in the footsteps of my father and mother- my grandfather, and grandmother. I cant wait to go on the rooftop and watch the sunset over the mountaintops of my grandfather's house and drinking tea with my 50+ first cousins on my mothers side alone.
The air smells different there; the food tastes different there- everything is different there.

When everyone can make themsleves happy in a place and a time of unhappiness, you know your among the people that really love you and the place you belong.
